Around the Corner. Ahead of the Curve.

DDCES is full of great clubs and activities that serve to actively engage students in a wide variety of ways.

Here are a few examples of some of the clubs and activities in DDCES:

The News Team

The DDCES Morning News is a great way start each day! Consisting of 5 members per crew, each crew rotates every quarter. Together we produce daily news to inform students, teachers and families on the day's latest happenings. We also produce special edition episodes that feature special events, like the Spelling Bee, the Hispanic Heritage Festival or our Brazilian Carnival happening in our school. Our news team works together to produce scripts, conduct interviews or research hot topics around the world to share. We use technology to record events, like photography and iMovie to edit our episodes and post them online, so that everyone in the community can watch on our school website daily!

Kids Help Kids

Kids Help Kids is Downtown Doral Charter Elementary School’s service-learning club for 2nd  through fifth graders. It was established to foster a sense of community service and serve learning among DDCES students.

Through Kids Help Kids, students learn about giving back to their school, their community, and their world. Kids Help Kids student members participate in a year-long service learning program that connects what they are learning in the classroom with real life opportunities, to give back.  The experiences gained through Kids Help Kids allow students to develop leadership skills that will last them a lifetime. Kids Help Kids students also serve as representatives for the rest of the student body in helping to plan and coordinate service projects.

Global Singers

The DDCES Global Singers are comprised of second and third grade multicultural students that have a passion for singing. Our choir is an intricate part of the Doral Community, enlightening audiences with their magical voices. The Global Singers were recently recognized for their excellent performances by the former Mayor of Doral, Mr. Luigi Boria. DDCES Global Singers are warming hearts!

Student Ambassadors

The DDCES Student Ambassador program is a group comprised of 2nd- 5th grade students whom dedicate their time to serve as leaders. Student Ambassadors exemplify core leadership values in the classroom  by working hard to attain outstanding academic achievements and by being exceptional role models by following our core values.  The Ambassadors serve as a link between the student community and staff by leading and assisting several activities. These activities have included delivering student of the month core values presentations to all of our classes. Also, serving as tour guides to prospective parents is one of their major roles. They also assist at school wide events such as the talent show, PTO events, and special ceremonies.

The DDCES Cheerleaders are the spirit of our school. This wonderful team of cheerleaders help bring the spirit of our school to all our events. The cheerleaders have cheered, danced, and loudly proclaimed the wonders of our school from the stage during events like our Winter Wonderland to outside the school when they welcomed and cheered on our guests during the dedication ceremony. The cheerleaders have also lead us in cheer during our basketball games on Saturdays! Go Dolphins!!!

Dolphin Athletix

DDCES and Thunder Athletix have come together to form Dolphin Athletix. Dolphin Atheltix is a sports program that allows our DDCES students to participate in various sports programs through-out the year. We started our inaugural year with a basketball enrichment. Students that participate in our enrichment program have learned the foundations needed to establish the skills used in basketball. Students have been able to participate in learning and enhancing these skills in our DDCES court. The Students have also learned about competitive team play and sportsmanship by participating in games at the Thunder Plex Gym on Saturdays. Go Dolphins!!!
